More fun and games coming to Saratoga
The city of Saratoga Springs has started construction on a new bike park behind the ice rinks on Weibel Avenue. The first phase of the project, an asphalt pump track, is funded by the city's capital budget and is expected to cost $400 thousand. Commissioner of Public Works Chuck Marshall expressed pride in bringing this new recreation amenity to the city. The completion of phase one is anticipated in four to six weeks, with two additional phases to follow, including a bicycle playground and jump lines. Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner has pledged $400 thousand in funding for the remaining phases, with completion dates still to be determined. The bike park project was initiated by Saratoga Shredders and is being constructed by American Ramp Company.
