“On Common Ground”
The Festival Celebration Choir and the Chancel Choir of the First Presbyterian Church-Albany will present a Holiday Concert entitled “On Common Ground.” An area premiere of the cantata “The Ballad of the Brown King” by Margaret Bonds with lyrics by Langston Hughes, featuring Christopher Price, Savannah Gordon and Noel Bond. The repertoire also includes Christmas Carols arranged by Alice Parker. There will be a chamber orchestra with harp. Festival Celebration Choir is directed by Julie Panke and accompanied by Daniel White, piano. First Presbyterian Choir is directed by Michael Lister and accompanied by Trevor Kalbaugh, organ. A related art and educational exhibit will take place in the large hall. The event is part of the First Friday Concert Series, presented on Sunday December 14, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church 362 State Street, Albany.
Admission is free to the public. A good will offering is suggested
