Update 8:58pm: This photo just in from the Daily Gazette shows firefighters battling an intense blaze

Update 8:32pm: CBS 6 is reporting the driver is alive but suffered serious burns and has been taken to Westchester Medical Center. 

Witnesses described seeing a giant fireball, flames a couple hundred feet high and hearing loud boom. This was minutes after the explosion. @CBS6Albany pic.twitter.com/b3kynAS9ID

Update 8:27pm: Neighbors tell News 10 they heard a loud boom and saw a giant fireball in the air. This video just in: 

A major explosion shook the town of Glenville in Schenectady County Thursday evening. Glenville Supervisor Chris Koetzle tells NewsChannel 13 a truck carrying propane struck the Maple Avenue Bridge. It happened around 6:35pm and knocked out power to over 1,200 National Grid customers in Glenville and Clifton Park.
