We found the women who go above and beyond to make their communities a better place to live. Those unsung heroes in our neighborhoods – the ones who are already busy, yet find the time to give back in big ways to help others.

Today's Outstanding Woman is,
Gloria Nare Bruno from the Town of Mohawk
Gloria is a retired teacher from Johnstown, she continues to make an impact by reading to children every week. During Christmas, she collects toys and gifts for kids, helping them pick out presents for their family members at the holiday store. She also crafts cards year-round and writes personal notes at Christmas, which she delivers to nursing home residents to brighten their days.
Her volunteering extends to working at a second-hand store that helps women dress appropriately as they re-enter the workforce. She belongs to several outreach programs, including The Century Club for Women, the Ladies Auxiliary at the Town of Mohawk Fire Department, and is a faithful member of her local church.
She is a quiet force of good, always acting behind the scenes without seeking attention, focusing on making a difference in others' lives. Beyond her community service, she lovingly cares for her husband, who has been battling cancer for the past seven years. She’s always listening for a need and then taking action to help in any way she can, embodying the true meaning of compassion and thoughtfulness.
