20 Outstanding Women!
We found the women who go above and beyond to make their communities a better place to live. Those unsung heroes in our neighborhoods – the ones who are already busy, yet find the time to give back in big ways to help others.

Today's Outstanding Woman is,
Karen LeQue of Clifton Park
Karen LeQue is a woman whose life's work is rooted in a simple but profound conviction: that every person, regardless of circumstance, deserves dignity, respect, and the opportunity to thrive. 18 years ago, she turned that conviction into action by founding Kee to Independent Growth, Inc., an agency dedicated to serving individuals living with brain injury and Alzheimer's dementia and she has led it with unwavering compassion ever since.
As a relentless advocate, Karen ensures that the voices of her clients are never overlooked. Her advocacy transcends care plans and policy, she sees each individual as a whole person, deserving of both medical attention and genuine human connection. For many of the clients she serves, who live below the poverty level, Karen's commitment takes on an especially personal dimension. Each Christmas, she uses her own money to purchase gifts for every client and their family members, ensuring that no home in her care goes without the warmth and joy of the season. It is the kind of quiet, selfless generosity that speaks directly to her character.
Under Karen's leadership, Kee to Independent Growth has developed a food pantry, clothing program, and hygiene support services, a reflection of her belief that truly caring for a person means addressing every dimension of their well-being, not just their medical needs.
Her dedication extends to her staff as well. Karen leads with empathy, encouragement, and respect, cultivating a workplace culture where people feel genuinely valued and inspired to serve with their whole hearts.
Karen LeQue does not simply run an organization, she builds a community of care, and she does so every single day with excellence and grace.
