20 Outstanding Women!
We found the women who go above and beyond to make their communities a better place to live. Those unsung heroes in our neighborhoods – the ones who are already busy, yet find the time to give back in big ways to help others.

Today's Outstanding Woman is,
Jodi Sheldon of Delmar
Jodi Sheldon is the kind of leader who measures success not by personal recognition, but by the strength and well-being of the community around her. As Director of Grateful Villages, an Albany-based nonprofit, Jodi works with quiet consistency and deep intention always behind the scenes, always in service of others.
Under her leadership, Grateful Villages has played a pivotal role in cultivating the West Hill Farmers Market into far more than a place to purchase produce. It has become a true community gathering space one that nourishes neighbors, uplifts local gardeners and urban farmers, and fosters a sense of belonging in the heart of Albany. Jodi's work also extends to meaningful partnerships with the Eden's Rose Foundation, supporting community-driven initiatives such as Albany Victory Gardens programs that invest in the land, the people, and the long-term vitality of the neighborhoods she serves.
Yet Jodi's commitment to community does not end with her nonprofit work. As the owner of Tasty Freeze and Tasty Treat, she has intentionally built her small businesses into platforms for youth employment and mentorship offering young people not just a job, but guidance, responsibility, and a foundation for their futures.
Balancing the demands of nonprofit leadership, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, and motherhood, Jodi carries each role with remarkable humility and heart. She does not seek the spotlight; she redirects it toward her community, her team, and the individuals whose lives are made better by her presence.
Jodi Sheldon's work leaves a lasting imprint on the Capital Region, and her example reminds us all of what purposeful, people-centered leadership truly looks like.
