20 Outstanding Women!
We found the women who go above and beyond to make their communities a better place to live. Those unsung heroes in our neighborhoods – the ones who are already busy, yet find the time to give back in big ways to help others.

Today's Outstanding Woman is,
Ashley Hart of East Greenbush
Ashley Hart is the true meaning of an outstanding woman! Ashley has had firsthand experience with the impact of domestic violence as a result of her sister being brutally murdered at the hands of her abuser in 2012. After witnessing her sister’s murder and herself becoming a victim, she knew she had to do something to help others suffering in silence.
With the goal of breaking that silence surrounding domestic violence, Ashley founded 2 Harts One Soul Inc., an organization devoted to raising awareness and holding donation-focused events to support local domestic violence programs. In addition to helping directly, Ashley inspires the community to take up the cause as well: making face masks during the pandemic, putting together care packages with feminine products, soaps, and shampoos, and raising awareness by sharing her sister’s story at a variety of events in Rensselaer County.
Ashley was awarded the Outstanding Volunteer Award in 2021 for service, advocacy, and action from Unity House. Ashley joined Unity House in 2023 and works as their Prevention Program Director. Ashley oversees many programs in this role, such as Human Trafficking, Gun Violence, Family Violence, and a Youth program.
She continues her life’s work to take away the stigma of speaking up and seeking help, eliminating the shame that often consumes victims, educating friends and family members to help them recognize the signs of abuse, and forcing those uncomfortable conversations we need to have as a community. She is always in the community spreading awareness, understanding, support, and compassion to all who need it. I truly believe Ashley is an outstanding woman who deserves to be recognized. Thank you.
