Popular Albany Jewelry Store Announces Closure
After more than four decades of serving the Capital Region, Silver Parrot at Stuyvesant Plaza will close its doors on February 28, 2026.
Owner Clint Hegeman announced the retirement closing on Monday, marking the end of an era for the beloved jewelry and accessories boutique that first opened in 1984.
"For all those years, it has been the best job ever!" Hegeman shared in his announcement. "Working with customers, curating our collections and being my own boss have all been immensely satisfying but time catches up to us all."
Silver Parrot became known throughout the Albany area for its carefully curated selection of unique jewelry, accessories, and clothing. In recent years, Hegeman expanded the business online with urbansterlingsilver.com, bringing the store's distinctive style to customers beyond the Capital Region.
Closing Sale Begins Today
Starting Monday, January 5th, everything in the store is 20% off. Customers with gift cards are encouraged to redeem them before the final day of business in February.
Hegeman is treating the next two months as "an ongoing retirement party" and invites loyal customers to stop by for one last visit before Silver Parrot closes for good.
"I'm looking forward to seeing my customers one more time before I start this new chapter in my life," Hegeman said.
Both the Stuyvesant Plaza location and urbansterlingsilver.com will cease operations on February 28, 2026.
