Here's where it's going
A sign on Central Avenue confirms, Chick-fil-A is coming soon. The new restaurant is planned for the corner of Central and Colvin, the site of the former Armory Garage car dealership.
The Times Union originally reported plans for the new chicken eatery were to open this fall, and it looks like work is underway to make it happen, though the city's Planning Department hasn't confirmed.
Albany would be the latest Chick-fil-A to open in the Capital Region. The chain has restaurants open in Clifton Park, East Greenbush, Albany Airport, the Thruway rest stop in New Baltimore. Plans for more restaurants are in the works for Latham and Brunswick.
Although the sign is up and work appears to have begun, no opening date has been announced yet.
