It's been in the works for years, the restaurant has finally cleared the final hurdle

After nearly four years of planning and delays, Chick-fil-A has finally received site plan approval to build a new restaurant in Latham. The Town of Colonie Planning Board gave the go-ahead on April 22 for the project at 579 Troy Schenectady Road, the former site of Brick House Tavern + Tap in Latham Farms.

Chick-fil-A first proposed the Latham location back in August 2021, but progress stalled due to traffic concerns. The restaurant resubmitted updated plans in November 2024, and the town has given the restaurant the go ahead.

The new building will be approximately 5,000-square-foot,have  84 parking spots, and a traffic roundabout near Erin Street. Construction is expected to take about six months once it begins.

Chick-fil-A already operates locations in Albany, Clifton Park, North Greenbush, the Albany Airport, and New Baltimore's Thruway Service Area.
