Five Teen Lifeguards Save Man from Drowning in Delmar Pool

NewsChannel 13 Video

When a swimmer didn't surface, the trio took lifesaving action

Shout out to NewsChannel 13's Dan Levy for reporting this story.

On Tuesday, 17 year old lifeguard Aiden Geis was keeping an eye on the water at Elm Avenue Park Pool in Delmar. He immediately noticed one of the swimmers, who was doing laps, had gone under water and didn't come back up. That's when he blew his whistle three times, signaling an emergency to the other lifeguards - Grace Bosworth, Mikolaj Wloszczynski and Dean Palas, who all rushed to help.

Lifeguard Aiden Boehme was the one who performed CPR on the man, who was taken to Albany Medical Center - he's ok and has been released from the hospital.

The lifeguards are being called heroes, but they insist they were just doing their job. And a great job they did!
