Tap water should be boiled before drinking or cooking

A boil water advisory is in effect for the Town of Colonie and Village of Colonie due to a water main break near British American Boulevard. Residents are advised to boil tap water before using it for drinking or cooking. The advisory is expected to last for two days, with schools and businesses making adjustments to ensure safety and continuity. The North Colonie Central School District is providing bottled water for students and staff, while local businesses like Pizza Zilla are taking extra precautions during the advisory. The Latham Water District is working on repairs and will notify residents when the advisory is lifted.
