20 Outstanding Women!
We found the women who go above and beyond to make their communities a better place to live. Those unsung heroes in our neighborhoods – the ones who are already busy, yet find the time to give back in big ways to help others.

Today's Outstanding Woman is,
Sharon Morin of Colonie
Sharon Morin does not volunteer because it is convenient or because it earns recognition. She volunteers because giving back is, quite simply, who she is. For more than three decades, she has shown up on the field, at the firehouse, in the classroom, and wherever she is needed with boundless energy, genuine warmth, and a heart that has room for everyone.
To generations of young athletes, Sharon is known affectionately as "Share Bear" a name that captures her spirit perfectly. As a coach for Colonie Pop Warner for over 30 years, she has never coached from the sidelines. She gets right out on the field, dancing alongside her cheerleaders, encouraging them, and instilling in them a genuine love for the sport. The lasting bonds she has built with her athletes speak to the kind of coach and person she truly is.
Sharon's dedication extends to the Capital District Angels, a special needs cheerleading team, where she spent approximately 15 years helping to coach alongside her daughter. Even today, she steps onto the competition floor without hesitation to assist with stunts, as committed as ever to ensuring every athlete feels supported and celebrated.
Beyond athletics, Sharon is a devoted member of the Midway Fire Department Auxiliary in Colonie, where she plays an integral role in planning fundraisers and organizing community events. She has also taught religious education for more than 30 years, sharing her faith and nurturing the spiritual growth of those in her church community.
Sharon Morin has spent a lifetime quietly pouring herself into others. In doing so, she has shaped not just cheerleaders, volunteers, and students but the very character of her community.
