20 Outstanding Women!
We found the women who go above and beyond to make their communities a better place to live. Those unsung heroes in our neighborhoods – the ones who are already busy, yet find the time to give back in big ways to help others.

Today's Outstanding Woman is,
Cathleen Montimurro-Santaski of Albany
Cathleen Santaski, an Albany teacher for nearly 25 years, currently teaches 6th grade and manages the school store. Passionate about her work, Cathleen allows students to earn tickets for making good choices, which they use to purchase items from the store. Despite a minimal budget, she secures donations and grants, dedicating much of her summer and weekly days to collection efforts. Utilizing platforms like DonorsChoose.org and AdoptAClassroom.org, Cathleen successfully funded three projects this year, alongside receiving a grant from the Albany Fund for Education. Beyond the classroom, she fosters enriching experiences by collaborating with community partners, arranging visits from local colleges, sports teams, therapy dogs, horses, bagpipers, and dancers. Cathleen's tireless efforts reflect her commitment to enhancing the lives of her students, making her an outstanding woman in education.
Nominated by James Santaski
