The Capital Region may soon play a starring role in the next nightmare from one of horror's biggest franchises.
A movie using the pseudonym 'Bridgeport', but widely believed to be the next installment in the Conjuring series, will start filming throughout parts of Schenectady on Monday.
The same casting group that recruited extras for the HBO series 'The Gilded Age' made calls earlier this year for a horror film, which will be shooting scenes in Schenectady, Albany as well as Rensselaer, Fulton and Oneida Counties.
News 10 says to expect parking restrictions in the Stockade area of the city over the next week.
The new movie, expected to be called The Conjuring: First Communion, stars Garrett Wareing and Amanda Fix as Ed and Lorraine Warren, and their early years as paranormal investigators. It's expected to be released in September 2027, according to IMDB.
