First home game is set for March 29
Pro hoops will have a new home in the Electric City. The New York Phoenix basketball team announced Wednesday that all home games will be played that the brand new M&T Bank Center at Mohawk Harbor.
The Phoenix held their inaugural season at Schenectady's Armory Studios in 2025. The M&T Bank Center was finished in late 2025 and is also the new home for Union College Hockey.
Schenectady mayor Gary McCarthy said the new arena is quickly growing as a new center for sports in the Capital Region:
We are pleased to welcome back the New York Phoenix for another exciting year of hoop action at the M&T Bank Center which is fast becoming the go to venue for exciting sports and concert events at Mohawk Harbor, Schenectady’s winning riverfront destination.
The first home game will be held March 29th against the Capital Seahawks. Season tickets and general admission for all games are on sale now at nyphoenxbasketball.com, with individual game tickets expected to be available soon.
