A motel in Colonie famous for providing long-term housing in ‘sub-standard’ conditions, will soon be razed. According to the Times Union, papers have been filed with the town to tear down the Sycamore Motel on Route 9 in Latham.
The motel land, as well as two adjacent parcels, is on its way to becoming the area’s newest Stewarts Shop. The new Stewarts is planning on having sixteen pumps under two bays as well as electric car charging bays.
The deal has not yet been finalized, but plans have been submitted to town officials and is awaiting approval of the town planning board. No word yet on when it is all expected to take place.
