Did you use Turbo Tax to file within the last few years? Remember how they kept touting how their services were free? Many people in New York State used it for that reason, only to be hit with a bill at the end.
Well, if you didn’t get a tax refund you may very well get a Turbo Tax refund. Due to a settlement from a class action lawsuit with the Attorney Generals office, those who used Turbo Tax during the years of 2016, 2017 and 2018 and were also eligible for IRS Free File, will be getting part of the settlement.
So how much will you get? Probably somewhere between $30 and $85. Keep an eye on your email for a notification from Rust Consulting, which will alert you if you are eligible.
