Yesterday, B95.5 and Hannaford Supermarkets celebrated the 20 Outstanding Women from the Capital Region who go above and beyond to make their communities a better place to live. For the past weeks B95.5 has been highlighting each of these women with their own day of recognition and yesterday celebrated them at The Desmond with Hannaford.
Chad O’Hara from B95.5 and Andrea Nickerson, Hannaford’s VP of Operations for their Western Division and Executive Sponsor of the Women’s Business Resource Group at Hannaford gave each of these Outstanding Women an award to highlight these unsung heroes.
Megan Baker, President and CEO of Baker Communications was also on hand as a special guest speaker discussing her 20+ year career and the importance of women supporting women, stating, “Now more than ever as women, we need to continue this journey, we need to make out voices heard and we need to lean in and support one another.” Before transitioning to a communications executive and entrepreneur, Megan enjoyed a highly-visible 10-year career in television news where she won a New York State Emmy and was honored by the Associate Press for Breaking news. Today, Megan specializes in developing and leading media training programs for high level CEO’s and executives, using her skills honed as a reporter to prepare clients for live events and aggressive media training.
Congratulations to Hannaford’s 20 Outstanding Women and thank you for joining with B95.5 in celebrating them as they continue to go above and beyond to make their communities a better place to live.
