20 Outstanding Women!
Todays Outstanding Woman is Kathy Bounds of Brunswick!
Kathy uses her skills to tirelessly hand knit sweaters, hats, and mittens for young children in need. She also makes over 30 no-sew fleece blankets every year! She donates all of these items to local non-profit organizations including Commission for Economic Opportunity and Unity House in Troy. Her unique gifts are distributed around Christmas time to families in need to provide a warm and loving gift. She has also made blankets for residents in the Capital District Center for Disabled and made homemade treats for them as well. She has received many awards for her good deeds including the U.S. Congress Certificate of Special Recognition for Outstanding Service to the Community Award, the Office of Rensselaer County Honorary Friends of CEO Award, and the Friend of CEO Community Action Award for Devotion to Mission of CEO. Kathy has found a simple way to give back to her community in a big way, and we are honored to call her one of Hannaford Supermarket’s 20 Outstanding Women!
Thank you to all the Outstanding Women who go above and beyond to make their communities a better place to live! The unsung heroes in our neighborhoods – those women who are already busy, yet find the time to give back in big ways to help others.
Each Outstanding Woman will be highlighted at on B95.5 with her own day of recognition, and will be invited to an exclusive celebration with all The 20 Outstanding Women!
