Saint Helen's School Gala

With the merger of Saint Helen’s and Our Lady of Fatima parishes in the fall, Saint Helen’s School will continue to operate but under a new name. To celebrate the rich history of St. Helen’s which was founded in 1926 the school, is organizing a celebratory gala at the Glen Sanders Mansion on Friday, February 10 from 7 to 11pm. St. Helen’s enrolls students from nursery through grade 5. The school was founded in 1955.

The party will benefit the school’s scholarship fund which provides financial assistance to approximately 100 students a year. The school has doubled in size over the past 2 years and continues to expand.

So come out and join us for a night of hors d’oeuvres, cash bar, dinner, music by Chris Wright and a silent auction and an opportunity to reminisce with alumnae, parents and others who have been an important part of the school. Special guests for the evening include: the Sister’s of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Father Bob Longobucco (Current Pastor of Saint Helen’s and Priest of Our Lady of Fatima), Deacon Richard Thiesen (Parish Life Director, Our Lady of Fatima), and past faculty and staff. The 7th Annual Warmth of Wine is a wine tasting event hosted by Umbrella of Colonie, a program of Colonie Senior Services Centers that helps senior homeowners maintain their homes by matching them up with affordable handymen or women.

Funds raised at The Warmth of Wine goes to help low income seniors, most of which live on a fixed income, pay their ever increasing home heating bills.
