B95.5, Spectrum News, and the Times Union present the Kid of the Week brought to you by Hannaford Supermarkets...kids in our community inspire us to make healthy choices every day and by the MiSci, Museum of Innovation and Science, in Schenectady.
Each week we spotlight a new kid of the week. There are great kids exhibiting positive behavior and you’ll get to know a new kid every week on B-95.5, in the Times Union, and Live on Time Warner Cable News.
This week's Kid(s) Of The Week is....
I would like to nominate my son, 10 year-old Jonathan Salzer of Delmar as the Kid of the Week. We were driving recently when Jonathan noticed a homeless man on the side of the street. He asked if he could borrow a dollar so he could give it to him. I gave him a few dollars so he could get out and give it to the homeless man. But he wanted to do more, so we went to the grocery store to get water, a hot meal, bananas and a donut. We drove back to find him, walked a half mile and finally caught up to him so Jonathan could give him his meal. The look on my son’s face was wonderful. He had done such a selfless act of kindness because it was on his heart to do so. It is a great reminder of how thankful we should all be for such simple things in life. I am so proud of him!
